Located in the Steamboat Island area, Thurston County Fire Protection District 13, also known as the Griffin Fire Department, has been protecting the community since it started. We have around 6,800 people living in a 25-square-mile area, and our main goal is keeping everyone safe.
Our fire department has four stations spread out strategically. The main one is Station 13-1, and we have Station 13-2, along with substations 13-3 and 13-4, to help cover the whole area effectively.
We’re proud to have a team of full-time firefighters, as well as volunteers and residents, working together. With nine full-timers, there are always at least two ready to go. This mix of people with different skills helps us handle whatever challenges come our way.
We’re equipped to deal with lots of different emergencies, like fires and medical situations. Our fleet includes three engines, two aid units, two tenders, and one brush truck, all in the right places to respond quickly.
Our main focus is on keeping the community safe. The Griffin Fire Department is here to help whenever you need us, dedicated to making sure everyone stays secure and strong.
