For the past 16 years, Charles Jones has been an integral member of the executive board, advocating tirelessly for the rights and well-being of his Union Sisters and Brothers. Holding the esteemed position of president for over 8 years, he has led with vision and determination, ensuring that the voices of his fellow firefighters are not only heard but respected at the bargaining table. Under his guidance, the contracts for the five bargaining units have seen unprecedented growth, expanding by over 280% in the past decade alone. As the tip of the spear, Charles Jones navigates the complexities of five separate administrations and contracts, safeguarding the rights and protections afforded to union members in their engagements with management.
